Commemorate the 200th anniversary of Norwegian emigration by making a bunad vest! So many bunad classes are based on the women’s bunad. In this online class, participants will focus on making a men’s vest from the Østerdalen region. The pattern and color are only used in this region. The main wool fabric on the front is stamped on. This vest is timeless and could even be worn today with a suit coat to a dressy event!

Class will be held from on four Thursdays, August 21-September 11 (5:30-7:30 pm CT).

Stephenie Anderson is a creative fiber and textile artist with a strong background in knitting, quilting, and hand sewing of Viking Age textiles. A frequent exhibitor, teacher, and knitting pattern writer, she won a blue ribbon in knitting at the Minnesota State Fair. Steph was awarded the Viking Connection Grant and studied in Norway under Astri Byrd and Linnea Madsen. While there, she studied and recreated historically accurate Viking Age garments based on archaeological findings.
